Geechee Mama Candles is a Black woman-owned spiritual brand creating authentic, handcrafted hoodoo candles and ritual tools rooted in Gullah/Geechee tradition and ancestral wisdom. Every candle is ritually fixed by hand with intention, prayer, and sacred ingredients to support manifestation, protection, money drawing, cleansing, and spiritual empowerment.
I was raised in New York City, but my roots trace directly to Charleston, South Carolina. My grandmother (a proud Geechee woman) migrated north during the Great Migration, carrying her stories, her spiritual practices, and her unwavering connection to the ancestors with her. I was raised on her rituals, her prayers, and her pot of white rice always simmering. That was Hoodoo. That was home.
And while I wasn’t raised in the Lowcountry, the Lowcountry was raised in me.
Geechee Mama Candles is my way of honoring that lineage. Blending my Gullah/Geechee heritage and Caribbean roots into sacred spiritual products designed for modern-day rootwork. I don’t claim to teach Hoodoo. I don’t claim to define the Gullah/Geechee culture. What I do claim is the right to honor my bloodline, walk in my practice, and share tools that were passed down in love and resilience.
